Job Description

Eurobank Private Bank Luxembourg S.A. is engaged in the business of providing Private Banking, Wealth Management and Investment services for corporate and private clients. In order to reinforce its Compliance department, our Bank is currently looking for a:

Senior Compliance Advisor MiFID and Market Abuse Surveillance Expert (m/f/d)

The Senior Compliance Advisor MiFID and Market Abuse Surveillance Expert primary role is to assist the Chief Compliance Officer in her responsibility for complying with all MIFID/ Market Abuse relevant regulatory requirements, internal policies and Eurobank Group standards. The Senior Compliance Advisor plays an important role in strengthening the regulatory expertise and skill-set within the Compliance department.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Keeping abreast of developments in the relevant legislations;
  • Analyze new regulations and related documents (directives, delegated regulations, laws, circulars, FAQs, ESMA guidelines, etc.);
  • Identify the compliance risks and potential impacts on the different activities of the Bank, perform gap analysis when new regulation is issued as regards a compliance area and be able to identify the impact, the gap and the solutions;
  • Draft and review the MiFID related policies, procedures;
  • Assess the effectiveness of the first line of defence controls and properly manage compliance risks for the compliance areas in scope (e.g. MiFID, Governance, Cross border transactions, Market abuse, Complaints);
  • Monitor implementation of the MiFID related processes and procedures (control of the rules of conduct, ensure that the clients’ information collected meets the requirements, review of the Customer Investment Profile, review of the order processing rules, control of the investment strategy, review of the client’s classification;
  • Draft concise and high-quality compliance monitoring memos with related findings;
  • Be able to design new controls and communicate to the stakeholders the findings, related action plan and ensure the follow-up;
  • Review in collaboration with the law firm the contractual agreements relating to the Bank's products and services (such as discretionary management mandates, investment advisory contract etc);
  • Provide advice to the Chief Compliance Officer and to other departments incl. guidelines;
  • Operate the Market Abuse Surveillance system;
  • Assist in the lodging of a STOR to the Regulator in case of a suspicious transaction;
  • Participate in projects implementing regulatory developments impacting the Bank;
  • Assist on the preparation of the compliance reporting (internal and external);
  • Provide adequate recommendations and issue guidance for corrective action to staff;
  • Liaise with internal and/or external parties on MiFID/Market Abuse compliance related matters;
  • Prepare and facilitate compliance awareness and training across the bank.

Requirements

  • Education: University degree or equivalent in business management, law or equivalent master.
  • Experience: Between 3 and 5 years in direct regulatory compliance experience in Compliance for a Bank or in a consulting/ audit firm with domain of expertise MiFID and Market Abuse (very good knowledge of investor protection regulations and capital markets transparency).
  • Hard skills: Proficient computer skills, working knowledge of the various laws and regulations of the Luxembourg financial sector.
  • Soft skills: attention to detail, strong organizational, analytical and logical skills.
  • Languages: English amp; French: strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages. Any other language will be an asset.
